How to make a "green" candy bag for Halloween

How to make your own Halloween Candy Bags (video) The video uses a stapler in lieu of a "sewing" component.

Materials and Tools:

old T-shirts or tank tops
hole punch
scissors
shoelaces
fabric glue
glow-in-the-dark fabric paint
Halloween felt stickers
beads, feathers, silk flowers or sequins
Steps:
1. This project is a great way to recycle old T-shirts or tank tops that the kids may have outgrown, and it's a fun activity for a group of kids at a Halloween party. Everyone can create a candy bag before heading out for trick-or-treating. Start by cutting the sleeves off of T-shirt, using a tank top will save this step. The shoulders become the handles and the shirt opening becomes the opening of the bag.
2. Cut the bottom of the shirt if it's too long for the child to carry without hitting the ground.
3. To secure the bottom of the bag, turn the shirt wrong side out and use the hole punch or scissors to create small holes around the bottom of the shirt, then lace the shirt bottom together with shoelaces. Then, turn the shirt back right side out so the knotted shoelace is hidden on the inside.

4. Time for embellishments. Let the kids decorate their candy bags with glow-in-the-dark fabric paint, silk flowers, sequins, Halloween stickers, etc. An option to creating the bag out of an old T-shirt is to embellish an old purse or tote.
